History
Jersey Quaker (Friends) Meeting House is principally a place of worship. It was built in 1872 and funded by Arthur Pease an English Quaker from Darlington. Little structural change or improvement has been made to the original building since 1872. A rear extension was added in 1990 to meet the need for school rooms, toilets, and a kitchen (See blue shaded plan section). The present Meeting of members and attenders probably gets more holiday visitors than most Meetings.

£200,000 TargetBecause Jersey is an Island, building costs are very high. Jersey Quakers are a small group with modest resources. Our goal is to reach our £200,000 target within the next two years as we want to ensure funding is in place before work begins. With a donation from our Southampton and Portsmouth Monthly Meeting, combined with a legacy and our fund-raising activities, we have currently raised £110,000. There is still a long way to go and every donation received, however small, will be vitally important and gratefully received.PLEASE HELP! |
